Finidi George Spotted at Enyimba Stadium for Oriental Derby

Former Super Eagles manager Finidi George was in attendance at the Enyimba International Stadium to witness the highly anticipated Oriental Derby between Enyimba and Rangers International. His presence added an extra layer of excitement to the goalless encounter, given his deep connections to Nigerian football.

Finidi, a Super Eagles legend, previously managed Enyimba FC and led the team to a league title in 2022/23 season before taking up the role as the national team coach before settling for Rivers United. His return to the stadium showcased his continued support for the People's Elephant and underscored his lasting impact on the club. However, Finidi will be facing Rangers this weekend in Enugu, with the Pride of Rivers hoping to maintain their top spot in the NPFL table.

  1. Finidi George was in Aba to have a look at, or if you like spy on, Rangers International ahead of the team's upcoming clash with his club, Rivers United, next Sunday, December 8. That was the real reason for his being in Aba, not his love for Enyimba FC or a promotion of Nigerian football as you suggested here. The match will be a titanic battle between the league defending champions and the current table toppers. Finidi, obviously, will do all possible to torpedo Rangers in Enugu.
