Kano Pillars skipper Rabiu Ali has expressed optimism about the Super Eagles B team's chances in their upcoming 2024 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifier against Ghana. Ali, a seasoned midfielder and one of the invited players for the encounter, is determined to contribute to Nigeria’s qualification and eventual success in the tournament.
Speaking with Punch, Ali shared his excitement about his call-up. “It’s a great honor to be invited again,” he remarked. Despite uncertainties earlier in the year about his inclusion, Ali maintained hope, attributing the decision to the coaching staff’s discretion.
Reflecting on past CHAN outings, the veteran midfielder highlighted the team’s achievements. “We tried our best and won the bronze medal in South Africa. In Morocco, we came second as they won the trophy,” he recounted, emphasizing the team’s pedigree and potential.
Ali is confident that this year’s campaign will surpass previous efforts. “By the special grace of God, we will deliver the qualifying ticket and also bring the trophy to Nigeria,” he declared.
With a blend of experience and determination, Rabiu Ali’s leadership and optimism could prove vital as the Super Eagles B team prepares to take on their Ghanaian rivals in the crucial CHAN qualifier.
