CAFCC: Eguma Optimistic About Enyimba's Qualification to Next Round

Enyimba FC head coach, Stanley Eguma, remains hopeful about his team's chances of advancing to the next stage of the 2024/2025 CAF Confederation Cup despite a 1-1 home draw against Al-Masry in Uyo.

Speaking after the Group D clash, Eguma acknowledged the team’s struggles but maintained that qualification remains achievable.

“It’s unfortunate we couldn’t secure a win despite our preparation,” he said. “Our players showed too much respect for the opponents in the first half, leading to the early goal we conceded. That goal shook our confidence, but this is not the end.”

Eguma believes Enyimba can still turn the tide in their final group-stage match. “If Al-Masry can come here and play the game of their lives, we can do the same in Egypt. We remain optimistic—it's not over until it's over.”

Enyimba will face Zamalek in a crucial encounter while Black Bulls take on Al-Masry in the final group fixtures. The results will determine the teams progressing to the next round.
