Enyimba FC clinched a crucial 2-1 victory against Nasarawa United in a rescheduled NPFL25 Matchday 17 fixture, thanks to goals from Joseph Atule and Brown Ideye. The win pushes Enyimba up to 7th on the league table, with two games in hand to further improve their standing.
The game started with both teams creating early opportunities but failing to convert. Nasarawa United displayed promising team play, but Enyimba's defense held firm.
First Half
In the dying moments of the first half, Joseph Atule broke the deadlock in the 45+4th minute with a well-timed finish, following excellent work by Ifeanyi Ihemekwele. The goal gave Enyimba a narrow 1-0 lead at halftime.
Second Half
Nasarawa United responded in the 58th minute through Anas Yusuf, who netted his 11th goal of the season to remain the league's top scorer. However, the parity was short-lived, as Brown Ideye came off the bench to restore Enyimba’s lead with his very first touch in the 62nd minute.
Despite late efforts from both sides, Enyimba held on to secure all three points.
