NFF to Unveil Éric Chelle as Super Eagles Head Coach on Monday

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will officially unveil Éric Sékou Chelle as the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles on Monday. The event will take place at the Media Conference Room of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, at 11 a.m.

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau urged Nigerians to rally behind the new coach despite varying reactions to his appointment.

“We appreciate Nigerians' passion for football, which has fueled different reactions following Coach Chelle’s appointment," Gusau stated. "However, we appeal for unity and support as we believe he has the qualities needed for success. The NFF will provide him with all necessary support."

During the unveiling, the NFF will also announce Chelle’s coaching crew, who will lead the Super Eagles B at next month's African Nations Championship in East Africa. The team will later shift focus to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, starting with matches against Rwanda (away) and Zimbabwe (home) in March.

Chelle’s appointment signals a new chapter for Nigerian football as the Super Eagles prepare for critical engagements on the continental and global stage.
