NWFL Set to Revolutionize Women's Football with Live Matches in 2024/2025 Season



The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) is ushering in a new era for women’s football with the launch of live weekly star matches for the 2024/2025 Premiership season.

The season kicks off on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, with a thrilling clash between defending champions Edo Queens and Abia Angels at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. The match will be broadcast live on NTA Sports 24 and StarTimes, marking a significant milestone for the league.

NWFL Chairperson, Nkechi Obi, emphasized the league's focus on growth and commercial viability, stating, "We aim to create a competitive, commercially viable league that inspires and attracts support."

In an effort to enhance the fan experience, this season will also feature floodlight matches, further solidifying the NWFL's commitment to elevating women’s football in Nigeria and beyond.
