Opeyemi Esther Ajakaye Returns to NWFL with FC Robo



Nigerian U20 women’s forward Opeyemi Esther Ajakaye has rejoined the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL), starting training with FC Robo after her stint in the United States.

Ajakaye, who was previously signed by Kansas City Current in the United States National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), spent the latter part of 2024 on loan at Carolina Ascent FC. She joined Carolina Ascent FC in November 2024 to participate in the remainder of the fall schedule.

Earlier in 2024, Ajakaye played for Madrid CFF in Spain before transferring to Kansas City Current and subsequently being loaned out to Carolina Ascent FC.

Now back in Nigeria, Ajakaye has been officially registered to feature for FC Robo in the upcoming 2025 NWFL season, signaling her return to domestic football.
