Abia Warriors defender Isaac Afolabi has assured fans of a determined performance against Akwa United in their upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash. This comes after their disappointing 3-2 loss to league leaders Remo Stars last Wednesday in Ikenne.
Despite taking a two-goal lead, Umu Chineke surrendered their advantage and suffered defeat, a setback Afolabi attributed to a lapse in concentration. The young left-back, however, emphasized that the team has moved on from the loss and is now fully focused on the next challenge.
"We are more than 100% ready for the game because we lost our away game, so we are expected to be giving our 100% on that day because we need the maximum three points. It's for our good and as well good for the team in general," Afolabi stated.
Abia Warriors will be eager to secure victory against Akwa United, who held them to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The team understands the importance of bouncing back and securing crucial points in their NPFL campaign.
With their sights set on redemption, the Warriors aim to deliver a strong performance at home and reward their fans with a much-needed victory.
