Nigeria's Finest: Super Falcons Unveil Olympic Squad



Nigeria's Super Falcons have announced their final squad for the Women's Olympic Football Tournament in France, with captain Rasheedat Ajibade leading the charge. The team, coached by Randy Waldrum, includes goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defender Osinachi Ohale, forward Asisat Oshoala, and 14 other players.

The squad also features defenders Oluwatosin Demehin and Michelle Alozie, midfielders Deborah Abiodun, Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, and Toni Payne, and forwards Esther Okoronkwo, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and Uchenna Kanu.

The team will depart Abuja on Thursday for a two-week training camp in Sevilla, Spain, before heading to France for the tournament. Nigeria will face Brazil, Spain, and Japan in the group stage, with their first match against Brazil on July 25th.

Gift Monday, Jumoke Alani, Ifeoma Onumonu, and Morufa Ademola have been listed as alternate players. The Super Falcons qualified for the tournament by defeating South Africa's Banyana Banyana 1-0 in April, with Ajibade scoring the winning penalty.

The team is seeking to make a memorable impact at the Olympics, having last appeared in the tournament in 2008. With a strong squad and determination, the Super Falcons are ready to take on the best teams in the world.
