Friday night football will return to the Euromatch NPFL from Matchday 8 as the league expands its live broadcast coverage.
The league organisers have adjusted the 2026/27 fixture schedule to create more opportunities for live matches, following meetings with broadcast partners Murphy Ben International (MBI) and AfroSoccer.
According to a memo signed by Euromatch NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Dr Ayo Abdulrahman, the new schedule will include:
- Friday kick-offs, including Friday night matches
- Early Saturday kick-offs
- Sunday matches at selected venues
The changes are designed to give broadcast partners access to more matchdays while reducing the logistical challenges of moving outside broadcast equipment across long distances.
Abdulrahman said clubs will be grouped into regional clusters to support more efficient broadcast operations.
From Matchday 8, fans will have access to three live matches involving venues in Katsina on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while Kano will host Ranchers Bees and Barau FC in fixtures involving visiting teams.
Meanwhile, MBI has acquired additional digital production equipment to strengthen its live coverage of the league.
MBI Team Lead Olatunji Ayodele confirmed the acquisition of Sony PXW-Z200 cameras and the OSEE GoStream Duet 8 ISO system.
According to Ayodele, the equipment will allow MBI to operate a more compact and flexible production setup, reducing the need for large outside broadcast trucks and extensive cabling.
The new digital system is expected to make it easier for MBI to deploy production teams across different Euromatch NPFL venues and deliver live match feeds through IP-based technology and reliable internet connectivity.
The move is expected to increase the number of Euromatch NPFL matches available to fans on live television and digital platforms.
