Flying Eagles head coach, Aliyu Zubairu, has announced plans to invite foreign-based players to join the team’s camp in preparation for upcoming competitions. The decision comes as part of the coach's strategy to strengthen the squad by incorporating talent from abroad.
Zubairu highlighted the importance of bringing in experienced players from outside Nigeria, stating, "I will call some foreign-based players who are part of the team, because we can't build on nothing owing to the lack of time available for us to raise a team." This approach aims to fast-track team development and ensure a competitive lineup, given the limited time to assemble the squad.
The addition of foreign-based players is expected to provide the Flying Eagles with an edge as they prepare for international tournaments. With this mix of local and foreign talent, Zubairu is confident the team will be able to achieve success on the global stage.
