NPFL Reschedules Enyimba vs Akwa United Clash Due to CAF Commitments

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has rescheduled the Matchday 3 fixture between Enyimba International and Akwa United. Originally set for Sunday, September 22, the match will now take place on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Enyimba Stadium in Aba. The change was made official in a letter signed by the NPFL Head of Operations, Davidson Owumi, on September 16.

The date change was prompted by Enyimba's involvement in a CAF Confederation Cup match against Etoile Filante De Ouagadougou of Burkina Faso, also scheduled for September 22. This continental commitment made it necessary to adjust the domestic league schedule to avoid any clashes and ensure both teams can meet their obligations.

The NPFL has called on all relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth preparations and logistics for the rescheduled match. The league organizers emphasize the importance of proper coordination to facilitate a successful hosting of the game on the new date.

Despite the change, the NPFL expressed regret for any inconvenience this shift may cause fans of both Enyimba and Akwa United. However, the adjustment was deemed necessary to accommodate Enyimba's international commitments while maintaining the integrity of the league schedule.
