Enyimba FC midfielder Eze Ekwutoziam has expressed confidence that his team will advance to the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup. The former African champions, Enyimba, have been placed in a challenging Group D, where they will face Zamalek, the current titleholders, along with Al Masry from Egypt and Black Bulls from Mozambique.
Ekwutoziam acknowledged the difficulty of the group but assured that the team is well-prepared and optimistic. He emphasized their focus on taking each game step by step, with the first test coming against Zamalek.
The midfielder highlighted the importance of remaining focused throughout the competition, recognizing the tough nature of their opponents. Despite the challenge, Ekwutoziam is confident in Enyimba’s ability to secure qualification from the group stage.
He also noted that preparation and strategy will play a crucial role in their journey, stating that the team is committed to working hard and delivering positive results.
"It's not going to be easy. We are ready and prepared. We are looking forward to it. We believe we are going to progress from the group," he said.
"We will take every game one at a time. We are ready for the game and this is football and Zamalek been champions, we are looking forward to the first game." Said Ekwutoziam.
