Flying Eagles Ready For WAFU B U20 Tourney In Togo - Aliyu Zubairu

The Flying Eagles are gearing up for the WAFU B U20 tournament in Togo, with head coach Aliyu Zubairu expressing confidence in his team's readiness. In an interview with NFF TV during their final training phase in Ikenne, Zubairu acknowledged the challenges they faced but emphasized their commitment to fine-tuning preparations through Grade A friendlies.

The Nigerian U20 side will face Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire in Group B, aiming to defend the title they won in Niger two years ago. Meanwhile, hosts Togo, Ghana, Benin Republic, and Niger will compete in Group A.

Zubairu stressed the importance of studying their opponents' recent performances both in Africa and internationally, ensuring a solid strategy for the tournament.

The competition, running from October 17th to 31st, doubles as the qualifying event for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, with the top four teams advancing to next year’s FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.

The Flying Eagles’ journey will not only test their preparation but also reaffirm their dominance as they seek continental glory once again.
