Akwa Ibom FA Splashes Cash on Akwa Utd After Victory Over Enyimba

The leadership of the Akwa Ibom State Football Association on Sunday rewarded Akwa United players with One Hundred Thousand Naira (N=100,000.00) following their 2-1 victory over Enyimba FC on matchday 23 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

State FA Chairman, Mr. Samuel Umoh, made the donation on behalf of the association, stating that the gesture was to appreciate and motivate the team for further successes in the ongoing season.

"We in the Football Association are proud of your victory in today's game, and it is a moment of joy for us and the fans who came out to support you. Our duty is to provide an enabling environment for football to thrive, and we want to assure you that we are solidly behind this team and will continue to support you throughout the season and beyond," said Umoh.

He praised the team's performance, acknowledging their quality play and the excitement they brought to the fans. Umoh expressed optimism that the team would secure more victories in their remaining fixtures.

"The team played good football today, and we know that all the fans enjoyed the display. This victory is encouraging, and we believe you will record more wins before the season ends.

"While we may not have much to offer, we recognize the importance of motivation and support. That is why we are presenting this token—One Hundred Thousand Naira—as part of our encouragement to the team. Keep up the good work, and we trust that this team will finish the season strongly," he added.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the team, captain Jean Efala expressed gratitude to the Football Association for their support. He assured that the team would not disappoint the football-loving people of the state and their fans worldwide, promising to deliver more outstanding performances.

Akwa United's victory over Enyimba marked their first league win in four matches and their first in 2025. The Promise Keepers will now shift their focus to their next fixture against Sunshine Stars on Saturday in Ikenne, aiming to build on their momentum and secure another positive result.
