Kano Pillars head coach, Usman Sheriff Sidi Abdallah, has reaffirmed his team’s determination to secure a continental ticket following their 2-0 victory over Lobi Stars on NPFL Matchday 33.
Goals from captain Ahmed Musa and Naziru Auwalu secured the crucial win at the Sani Abacha Stadium, ending Pillars’ recent winless run and compounding Lobi Stars’ struggles.
Speaking after the match, Abdallah said, “We needed this win badly. It boosts the morale in the dressing room and sets the tone for the final stretch. We are not giving up on continental qualification. There’s still a lot to fight for.”
The result lifts the four-time NPFL champions to 7th on the league table with 47 points from 33 matches, keeping them in the race for a top-three finish.
Next up for the Sai Masu Gida is a high-stakes clash away to Enyimba International in the fierce ZOBIA Clásico, a rivalry that consistently delivers drama and intensity.
