Quadri Shines as Enyimba Eyes CAF Return in NPFL Final Stretch

As the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) enters its decisive phase, Enyimba’s Olasunkanmi Quadri has emerged as a key figure in the club’s push for continental qualification. Since his mid-season transfer from Heartland FC, the 22-year-old midfielder has delivered six assists and a goal in just 10 appearances, injecting fresh energy into Stanley Eguma’s team.

Quadri's standout performance came during the Oriental Derby against Enugu Rangers, where his precise assist sealed a crucial 2-1 away victory. His blend of vision, control, and work rate has helped Enyimba close in on a top-three finish, with only three games left in the season.

“I think I’m feeling at home now,” Quadri said. “It was tough adjusting at first, but I’ve settled in. We know what’s at stake, and picking one of the continental tickets would be a massive achievement for me and the team.”

Enyimba will face Kwara United on NPFL Matchday 36 in Aba this Wednesday, in a fixture that could prove pivotal. The People’s Elephant trail the top spots by narrow margins and need a strong finish to secure a CAF interclub competition berth.

“We’ve worked very hard to get to this point,” Quadri added. “But we must keep pushing. The race isn’t over. We want to be in the CAF competition next season, and we’re ready to give everything to make that happen.”

Historically, Enyimba holds the edge over Kwara United with 14 wins from 26 meetings, while the Ilorin side has won nine times. However, Kwara United took the spoils in their last encounter earlier this season with a 2-0 victory at home.

With revenge on their minds and a continental dream within reach, Enyimba will look to Quadri to lead the charge in this high-stakes clash.
