Sokoto United Storm Kano for Season-Deciding Clash Against Jigawa Golden Stars

Sokoto United FC have arrived in Kano ahead of their crucial Nigeria National League (NNL) showdown with Jigawa Golden Stars, set for Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at the Kazaure Township Stadium.

Led by General Manager Alhaji Umar Muhammad Maraya, the Sokoto United contingent comprises 20 players, five technical crew members, six management officials, and the club’s Supporters Club Chairman. The team landed in Kano on Thursday evening, focused and eager for a must-win encounter.

Currently sitting 4th on the league table, Sokoto United must secure victory to stand a chance of qualifying for the NNL Super 8. Their fate, however, also depends on the result of the Mighty Jet International vs. Barau FC match. A Barau slip-up coupled with a Sokoto win will see the Caliphate Boys advance.

Their opponents, Jigawa Golden Stars, are in a fight for survival. Anchored at the bottom of the standings, defeat on Sunday would confirm their relegation, making this a high-stakes battle for both sides.

With everything on the line, Sokoto United are primed to leave it all on the pitch in pursuit of Super 8 qualification.
