Akwa United Unveil New Management and Technical Crew

Akwa United Football Club has announced a major restructuring with the appointment of a new management committee and technical crew.

Governor Umo Eno directed the changes, emphasising that the club must make a swift return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), which he described as the rightful place for Akwa United.

Mr Joseph Eno has been named the new Chairman of the club. A graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Eno is a seasoned procurement expert and football enthusiast. He retired from Total Energies after 20 years of service and is currently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CampeGee Hotel and Resort, Uyo.

Other key appointments in the management committee include Pastor Ini Edoho as Vice Chairman, Mr Jimmy Joshua as General Manager, Elder Omon Bassey as Club Secretary, Mr Festus Akpan as Team Manager, Mr Mfon Patrick as Media Manager and Mr NsikakAbasi Akpan as Assistant Media Manager.

In the technical department, Coach Paul Offor, who previously guided Sporting Lagos to promotion in the 2023–24 season, has been appointed Head Coach. He will be responsible for preparing the Promise Keepers for the 2025–26 Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign.

The rest of the technical crew comprises Coach Tosin Adekugbe, Coach Okechukwu Promise, Coach Bassey Akpan as Goalkeeper Trainer and Coach Akarandut Orok.

The restructured leadership is seen as a decisive step towards restoring Akwa United to the NPFL.
