The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has postponed the Matchday 13 fixture between Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) and Remo Stars FC, which was scheduled for Sunday, due to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Elective Convention taking place this weekend at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The two-day political event, slated for November 15–16, 2025, will occupy the same venue that serves as 3SC’s home ground, prompting league organisers to shift the fixture to a later date.
In a statement, the NPFL management confirmed that a new date for the encounter will be announced soon.
The PDP convention, approved by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) in July, will see the election of new national officers and marks a significant moment in the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Shooting Stars currently sit second on the league table with 15 points from nine matches, four points behind leaders Nasarawa United.
Remo Stars, who represented Nigeria in the ongoing 2025/26 CAF Champions League, have struggled domestically this season and are placed 17th with 10 points from nine games, recording three wins, one draw, and five losses.
The PDP National Convention will draw party leaders and delegates from across the country as the opposition party looks to reposition itself ahead of the next electoral cycle.
