Akwa United will aim to extend their winning streak to four matches when they face Rovers FC of Calabar in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Southern Conference B on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
The Promise Keepers, joint leaders alongside Sporting Lagos with 16 points, head into the fixture in excellent form. They have won their last three matches, scoring six goals and conceding only one.
Akwa United will travel to Calabar on Friday ahead of the final game of the first round. Head coach Paul Offor plans to keep most of the squad that secured victories against Osun United, First Bank FC, and Stormers SC. However, the team will be without attacking midfielder Ndifreke Etim, sidelined with a shoulder injury sustained during the last match in Uyo.
Coach Offor called on his players to show determination, dedication, and focus in the upcoming clash. He believes an away win will boost the team's title ambitions and solidify their position at the top of the table.
