Barau FC have strengthened their commitment to social responsibility after partnering with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Kano to combat drug abuse among youths.
The club paid a courtesy visit to the NDLEA Kano State Command on 16 March 2026, where they were received by the State Commandant, CN Dahiru Yahaya-Lawal.
The delegation was led by General Manager Dominic Iorfa, alongside Vice President Kabiru Baita and Khalifa Rabiu, who represented the club’s president. Coaches, officials and players were also present.
Speaking during the visit, Iorfa commended the NDLEA for its role in tackling drug abuse, describing the agency as a key institution in safeguarding society. He added that Barau FC would continue to provide opportunities for the NDLEA to engage with players and supporters, including access to matchdays through ticket support.
As part of the visit, the club donated three newly branded jerseys and footballs to the agency, reaffirming its commitment to supporting awareness campaigns against drug abuse.
In his response, Yahaya-Lawal praised the club’s Grand Patron, Senator Barau Jibrin, for his contribution to the development of sports in Kano and across Nigeria. He also confirmed a partnership between the NDLEA and Barau FC aimed at strengthening youth engagement and public awareness efforts.
The NDLEA Commandant further presented an award to Senator Jibrin in recognition of his role in promoting sporting activities, particularly football.
Vice President Kabiru Baita also expressed appreciation to the NDLEA for hosting the club and supporting the initiative.
