Nasarawa Amazons Technical Adviser Christopher Danjuma Musa has praised his side’s resilience and development following their dramatic 1-0 victory over Dannaz Ladies in the NWFL Premiership.
A late strike from substitute Onyekachi Deborah sealed all three points for the Lafia-based side at the Lafia City Stadium on Wednesday, as they strengthened their position in second place in Group B.
Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, the Amazons were forced to wait until stoppage time before finding the breakthrough. Deborah capitalised on a goalkeeping error to score in the 95th minute and secure a deserved win.
Speaking after the match, Danjuma highlighted the team’s mental strength, particularly in response to recent setbacks.
He said the ability to bounce back from a home defeat and secure results on the road reflects the growing character within the squad.
Danjuma also pointed to the challenges faced by the team this season, revealing that the departure of several players has tested their depth.
According to him, missed chances can create tension during matches, but his players maintained composure and focus to get the result.
He added that performances like this underline the team’s steady progress in the league.
The victory moves Nasarawa Amazons to 22 points after 11 matches, reinforcing their push for a strong finish in the NWFL Premiership season..
