European Scouts, Agents Set to Attend 2026 NLO Cup

The Nationwide League One (NLO) has announced the return of the remodelled NLO Cup, with European scouts and local and international agents expected to attend the 2026 tournament in search of emerging Nigerian talent.

The competition, which begins after the conclusion of the regular Division One season, is designed to keep clubs active during the off-season while giving players another opportunity to impress.

NLO Chief Operating Officer, Dr Olushola Ogunnowo, said the tournament will offer financial benefits to clubs through player transfers and provide talented footballers with greater exposure to opportunities abroad.

According to him, the competition will feature regional matches played across designated zones before the zone winners advance to a central venue for the final playoffs to determine the champion.

To boost global visibility, all matches will be live-streamed on digital platforms worldwide.

The NLO added that details regarding registration fees, zonal groupings and the full match schedule will be announced soon through its official channels, with all clubs encouraged to participate.
