The Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has upheld several sanctions against Wikki Tourists while reducing the stadium ban earlier imposed on the Bauchi club following incidents during their Nigeria Premier Football League match against Katsina United.
The decision was reached at the committee meeting held on March 3, 2026, after reviewing reports from the fixture played on February 8 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
According to the committee, Wikki Tourists failed to provide adequate and effective security as unauthorised persons gained access to restricted areas after the first half of the match.
Supporters of the club were also found to have thrown dangerous objects, including stones, onto the field of play. The centre referee confirmed he was struck by a stone but did not sustain any injury.
However, the committee stated that there was no evidence to support claims that any match official or member of the away team suffered injuries during the incident.
It also ruled that the conduct of some supporters was capable of bringing the game into disrepute.
Following its findings, the committee upheld the ₦2 million fine imposed on Wikki Tourists for failing to provide adequate and effective security.
A ₦1 million fine for unsporting behaviour capable of bringing the game into disrepute was also maintained, while another ₦1 million fine for supporters throwing dangerous objects onto the field of play was upheld.
The sanction relating to alleged injury to match officials was set aside due to lack of evidence. Another sanction earlier issued under the NPFL Summary Jurisdiction was also set aside.
In addition, the committee reduced the earlier directive ordering Wikki Tourists to play their remaining home matches of the 2025/2026 season in Jos. The punishment has now been reduced to a five match stadium ban, which will run concurrently from the date of the sanction.
The committee noted that the decision does not affect the club’s right to appeal.
The meeting was attended by Barrister Jude Obikwelu, who chaired the session, alongside Barrister A.I. Abdulrahman, Barrister Bello Galadi, Barrister Wole Ademoyegun and Queen W. Otarakpo, who served as secretary.
