The Chairman of the Niger State Sports Commission, Hon. Danjuma Abdul Masu, visited the training session of Niger Tornadoes as the team stepped up preparations for their home fixture against Kano Pillars.
The Nigeria Premier Football League encounter is scheduled for this weekend at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna.
Masu expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s recent performances, lamenting their poor run of results and urging the players and technical crew to quickly turn things around.
In a bid to motivate the squad, the sports commission chairman announced a winning bonus of ₦1 million if the team defeats Kano Pillars. He also promised an additional reward of ₦100,000 for every goal scored in the match.
Masu said he could not watch the fortunes of the club decline, describing Niger Tornadoes as a team that holds a special place in the hearts of Nigerlites. He called on the players and officials to take greater responsibility and restore the club’s winning form.
He also pledged that the players would receive double match bonuses for any away victory.
Niger Tornadoes will hope the incentives inspire a strong performance when they face Kano Pillars this weekend as the Ikon Allah Boys aim to end their poor run and return to winning ways.
