Niger Tornadoes F.C. Technical Adviser Majin Mohammed has expressed disappointment after his side were held to a goalless draw by Warri Wolves F.C. in their Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 28 clash at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna.
The stalemate mirrored the reverse fixture in Ozoro, as both meetings between the sides this season have ended without a winner.
Speaking after the match, Majin admitted his team did enough in preparation but failed to deliver the result that mattered.
“We did everything possible to prepare the players, both physically and psychologically. They gave their best, but it was not enough to earn us the three points, which is disappointing considering our position on the league table,” he said.
The coach acknowledged the reaction of the home supporters, insisting their frustration was understandable in a results-driven game.
“The same fans were celebrating us in the first stanza when we were getting positive results,” Majin noted.
He added that the team had hoped to use the encounter as a springboard for confidence but fell short of that objective.
Attention now shifts to next week’s away trip to Jos, where Tornadoes will face Plateau United F.C.. Majin has promised a strong response.
“We will work hard to secure a positive result there to make up for the points we have dropped,” he assured.
The coach also explained that changes to the starting line-up were forced by injuries and considerations for players observing fasting.
The result leaves Tornadoes 12th on the table with 35 points from 27 matches as they continue their push for stability in the closing stages of the campaign.
