“We Love Them” – Offor Sends Strong Message to Promise Keepers Supporters

Head coach Paul Offor has praised the supporters of Akwa United FC following their 2-0 victory over First Bank in a Nigeria National League Week 12 fixture at the Uyo Township Stadium.

The Promise Keepers extended their lead at the top of Conference B after Sunday’s win and completed a season double over First Bank, having earlier secured a 3-1 result in Lagos.

After a goalless first half, Paulinus Okon broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute with a diving header from Yannick Menegbe’s cross. Okon struck again in the 75th minute to seal the club’s eighth win of the campaign and move them four points clear at the summit.

Speaking after the match, Offor reserved special praise for the fans, urging them to continue backing the team in their push for promotion.

“We love them. We put in our best to perform well for them, that’s why we are here. We encourage them to always come out to push us so we can achieve this target together,” Offor said.

The UEFA B Licence holder also took to social media on Monday to further acknowledge the supporters’ role in the team’s progress.

“To our valued fans, your presence elevates ordinary moments into unforgettable experiences. We appreciate your unwavering support and look forward to sharing the finale with you. Akwa United Football Club, Uyo.”

Akwa United will travel to face Osun United on Matchday 13 as they continue their pursuit of promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
