Players and officials of Calabar Rovers FC were involved in a serious road accident on Tuesday morning in Delta State while travelling to Lagos for their scheduled fixture against Sporting Lagos.
According to eyewitness accounts, the team bus reportedly somersaulted three times before coming to a halt on its side.
Several players sustained injuries in the crash, with some described as serious. Emergency responders were said to have arrived at the scene shortly after the incident.
Despite the severity of the accident, there have been no confirmed fatalities at the time of reporting.
The club was travelling to honour a league fixture in Lagos, and further updates on the condition of the injured players are expected in due course.
