‘We Played Like Warriors’ Aweroro Praises 3SC Display Against Rangers

Shooting Stars technical adviser Nurudeen Aweroro has praised his players for their determination following a 3-1 victory over Rangers in their Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 32 fixture in Ibadan on Sunday.

Adams Mustapha, Desmond Ojietefian and Sodiq Ibrahim found the net for Shooting Stars, while Chidebere Nwobodo scored a consolation goal for the visitors.

Aweroro acknowledged the difficulty of facing Rangers, noting their recent defensive solidity heading into the encounter.

“We played against a team that has not conceded in their recent games,” Aweroro told OyoSportsNews.

He described the performance as one of the team’s finest this season, highlighting both their defensive discipline and attacking efficiency.

“The game was one of our best games because we played against a tough team, stayed very conscious in defence, and still managed to score three goals,” he said.

The coach also commended the mentality and resilience shown by his players throughout the contest.

“It shows the mentality and resilience of our players.

“We never gave up. They call us warriors, and the players understood the message before the game, to play like warrior, and they did just that.”
