The choice of Enyimba International stadium for NLO Southeast and South-South playoffs, a choice made on neutrality and fair play and not on biased to favour any team as claimed by Cynosure FC chairman
The National League One (NLO) board recently made a decision that has caused quite a stir in the Nigerian football community. The board has chosen the Enyimba International Stadium as the venue for the Southeast and South-South playoffs. This decision has been made with neutrality, standard, and quality in mind, as the NLO board strives to promote fair play and give every team an equal opportunity to showcase their talents. However, the chairman of Cynosure FC has come forward with baseless claims and attempts to blackmail the board into changing the venue, accusing them of bias.
It is worth noting that the same Cynosure FC chairman who is complaining and blackmailing the NLO to change the venue played his matches in Ntigha Isiala-Ngwa, Abia State, two seasons ago and qualified against Abia State teams. This raises the question – why is he now complaining about the choice of Enyimba stadium, which offers a more central and accessible location for all teams involved?
It is no secret that the Cynosure FC chairman is a man known for controversy and regularly resorts to blackmail to get his way. He has a history of causing disruptions and discrediting anyone who does not align with him, especially when it comes to football politics. It is a shame that he continues to bring the beautiful game into disrepute with his actions.
One particular accusation that the chairman has made is that he was approached by other club owners, including the CEO of Ekomzy FC, to write a petition against the NLO's decision to use the Enyimba stadium for playoffs. However, the Ekomzy FC CEO has denied these claims, stating that he has never asked or joined the Cynosure FC chairman in writing any petition against the NLO. It is clear that the chairman is trying to manipulate the situation to suit his own agenda.
It is essential to note that both Jaguar FC and Right2Win, the two Umuahia based clubs in the playoffs, have proven that the choice of Enyimba stadium is fair and reasonable. Just recently, Jaguar FC was zoned to Abakaliki, the home of Cynosure FC, for their NLO matches. Despite all odds, they qualified for the playoffs in Abakaliki, showing that the venue did not hinder their performance. Additionally, the CEO of Right2Win, who the chairman accused of being the Sporting Director of Abia Comets – a claim that has been debunked – left the club three seasons ago and has not attended any Abia Comets match since then. It is clear that the chairman's accusations are baseless and without merit.
Moreover, the chairman also claimed that the Sporting Director of Jaguar, who he says has power in the Enyimba stadium, does not have the authority to dictate the venue. It is important to note that the stadium manager has the final say in determining what happens in the venue, and the Sporting Director of Jaguar has no control over this.
This decision to host the NLO's playoffs in Enyimba International stadium was made last month when the league phase ended and Cynosure chairman never complained about the choice of venue because he was involved in a league dispute that sees him thrown out of the league by NLO for using ineligible players. When went to O&D to contest the NLO's decision and the O&D handed him a questionable judgement which brought him back into the league and the playoffs.
While he was returned to the league by the O&D committee, Cynosure FC chairman never complained about the venue because the same O&D Committee that handed him a questionable judgement against NLO also did same to Abakaliki Feeders FC against Jaguar FC which means that two Abakaliki clubs looks to be heading to Aba to play the NLO's playoffs in Enyimba International stadium. Not until Jaguar FC appealed the shabby and biased judgement from O&D and won the case that Cynosure FC chairman starting crying foul over what he was earlier supporting that will favour him.
So the question is why didn't he complained about the venue when it was looking for him and those in Abakaliki that they have the chance to qualify with two teams from their home playing in the same group in the playoffs?
If Cynosure FC chairman is not planning a match fixing with Abakaliki Feeders FC, then why didn't he complained then? Now that the NFF's Appeal Committee restalled Jaguar FC back to the playoffs and all of the sudden Cynosure FC chairman is complaining?
Our football already passed this level of petty blackmail from a man who's known for pettiness when things doesn't go his way.
In conclusion, it is evident that the NLO's board decision to use the Enyimba International Stadium for the Southeast and South-South playoffs is a fair and just one.
And to say this lest, this Cynosure FC chairman and his club played all his league matches in Abakaliki against teams from Enugu, Anambra etc to qualify, and why is he now claiming bias when he has already enjoyed the same treatment in his home town of Abakaliki where he enjoyed every bit of home advantage and officiating. Why didn't he complain about bringing the league phase to his Abakaliki to face teams from three different states? When a blackmailer cries foul, note that he has been beaten to his own game and will only resort he what he knows how to do best manipulation.
The choice has been made with neutrality, standard, and quality in mind, and any allegations of bias are baseless. It is time for the Cynosure FC chairman to put aside his personal agenda and focus on supporting and promoting fair play in Nigerian football. His constant attempts to manipulate the game and blackmail others should not be tolerated, and he should be held accountable for his actions.
Let us give every team an equal opportunity to showcase their talents, and let the beautiful game of football unite us rather than divide us.
