Crown FC of Ogbomoso, popularly known as the Ajilete Warriors, has officially resumed preparations for the upcoming 2024/2025 Nigerian National League (NNL) season. According to a statement from the club’s General Manager, Mr. Olamide Ilupeju, the team will reopen its camp on Sunday, 8th September 2024. All retained players have been instructed to report to camp on that day to begin pre-season activities.
Coach Deji Ayeni is set to lead the training sessions, which will start in earnest on Monday, 9th September 2024. Initially, only retained players will participate in the first week of training. This phased approach aims to provide the current squad members an opportunity to regain fitness and cohesion after the offseason break. Following this, invited players will join the training sessions after the first week, as the team looks to finalize its squad for the new season.
The preparations mark a crucial period for Crown FC, a club eager to make a strong statement in the upcoming NNL season. Under the guidance of Coach Deji Ayeni, who has been credited with revitalizing the team's playing style, Crown FC is aiming to build on last season’s performances and push for promotion to the top tier of Nigerian football. The return to camp signals the beginning of a comprehensive preparation plan that includes fitness drills, tactical training, and friendly matches to evaluate both new and existing players.
Mr. Ilupeju expressed optimism about the upcoming season, noting that the club's management is committed to providing the necessary support and resources to ensure a successful campaign. He stressed the importance of this early preparation phase, as it will lay the foundation for what they hope will be a memorable season for the Ajilete Warriors and their supporters.
The training camp is expected to foster team unity and fine-tune strategies for the season ahead. By integrating new talents with the retained core players, Crown FC hopes to strike the right balance and boost its chances of competing at the highest level. The club is also expected to engage in several warm-up matches to test the team's readiness and adjust tactics accordingly.
Crown FC’s management, coaching staff, and players are all focused on one goal: achieving a successful 2024/2025 season. The next few weeks will be crucial as the team looks to build momentum and demonstrate its determination to compete for top honors in the Nigerian National League.
