FIFA President Gianni Infantino has extended warm congratulations to Malam Shehu Dikko on his recent appointment as Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC) of Nigeria. Dikko’s connection to FIFA dates back several years, having served on the FIFA Stakeholders Committee since 2017. His contributions to global sports through his work with FIFA and as part of the IFAB-FIFA Experts Panel, beginning in 2020, have been widely acknowledged. These roles have allowed Dikko to influence key sports policies and frameworks internationally.
In addition to his work with FIFA, Dikko has held long-standing positions within the Confederation of African Football (CAF), where he has served on the Organising Committee for Inter-Clubs Competitions and the Club Licensing Committee since 2016. His extensive experience with CAF and FIFA has prepared him well for his new responsibilities at the NSC, where he is expected to apply his knowledge to promote and strengthen Nigerian sports infrastructure and development.
