Nigeria’s NWFL champions, Edo Queens, have departed for Burkina Faso ahead of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU B qualifying tournament.
Edo Queens will represent Nigeria in the regional qualifiers as they seek to secure a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The Nigerian champions have been drawn in a tough Group B alongside 2025 WAFU B champions ASEC Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire, Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa and AS GNN of Niger.
The qualifying tournament is scheduled to begin on August 23 and run until September 5, with matches taking place in Burkina Faso.
Edo Queens will be aiming to navigate the group stage successfully and book their ticket to the continental showpiece.
The club announced their departure on social media, declaring: “The album is packed. The stage is set. The Queens are on the road!”
