Technical Adviser of Basira FC, Aminu Musa, has expressed his commitment to guiding the Lafia-based side to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Basira FC started their 2024/2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign on a high note with a 1-0 victory over Yobe Desert Stars at the Lafia City Stadium.
The crucial win came courtesy of a 28th-minute header from Chigozie Ani, whose precision inside the box ensured the home side collected all three points. Despite being new to the national league, Basira FC demonstrated composure and determination, setting a positive tone for their debut season.
Speaking after the match, Musa attributed the victory to divine intervention and the dedication of his players. "I thank Almighty God for this win and appreciate my boys for the incredible effort they put in. This was a challenging game, but their performance was commendable," he said.
Musa also extended gratitude to the team's officials for their unwavering support, emphasizing that their trust and encouragement have allowed him to focus on delivering results. "The management has been outstanding, giving me the freedom to implement my strategies without interference, which has been crucial to our success," he added.
Looking ahead, the coach outlined his ambition for the season, stating that promotion to the NPFL remains the ultimate goal. "Though we are a young team, we are determined to secure the ticket to the NPFL by taking each game as it comes. The journey is tough, but our focus is unwavering," Musa asserted.
He also acknowledged the people of Nasarawa State for their unwavering support, highlighting their role in boosting the morale of the players. "The encouragement from our supporters and their belief in my coaching abilities have been a great source of motivation," he remarked.
The win against Yobe Desert Stars has bolstered the team's confidence as they prepare for their next fixture. Basira FC will travel to Abuja to face Sporting Supreme FC in a matchday 2 encounter scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Bwari Township Stadium.
Musa expressed optimism about the upcoming challenge, stating that the team is ready to build on their opening success. "We are focused on the next game and are committed to maintaining the momentum," he said.
Basira FC’s debut season in the NNL has drawn attention, with fans and analysts alike praising their potential and disciplined approach. The team’s ambition to rise to the NPFL is a testament to the hard work and vision of their technical crew and players.
