Bayelsa United Technical Adviser, Ladan Bosso, has praised his players for their determination in overcoming Ikorodu City FC in a closely contested Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 16 encounter. The Prosperity Boys secured a 1-0 victory at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, thanks to a late strike by Rabiu Abdullahi.
The decisive goal came in the 79th minute when Abdullahi capitalized on a defensive error by the visitors. A well-placed long ball from Gabriel Biriduba set up Abdullahi, who expertly finished to break Ikorodu City's resistance. The victory marked an important milestone for Bayelsa United as they continue their steady climb up the NPFL standings.
In his post-match comments, Bosso lauded his players’ resilience, especially after a lackluster first-half performance. “The lads showed great character to push through and secure the win. We will work on building upon the momentum from our last three games,” he said.
The Prosperity Boys are gearing up for another home fixture against Akwa United this Sunday at the Samson Siasia Stadium. Bosso and his squad will aim to extend their winning streak before embarking on a challenging away match against Remo Stars in matchday 18.
Bayelsa United's recent form highlights their growing confidence and tactical discipline, with Bosso’s leadership playing a crucial role in their improved performances.
