CHAN 2024: Nduka Vows Super Eagles Will Give Their Best Despite Underdog Status

The captain of Nigeria's home-based Super Eagles, Nduka Junior, has assured fans that the team will give their all at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), even though they are not considered favorites.

Speaking to BSN Sports, Nduka acknowledged the strength of other teams in the tournament, including Morocco, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda, but emphasized that the Nigerian team remains confident and determined.

"We are not the favourites; teams like Morocco, co-hosts Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda are strong contenders," Nduka stated. "We will respect our opponents, but we are not intimidated by any of them."

Nduka praised the team's unity and quality, noting their success in the qualifiers, where they defeated Ghana’s Black Galaxies 3-1 on aggregate.

"We will give our best, just as we did in the playoffs against Ghana. We are united, and we have quality players ready to represent the country at CHAN," he added.

The captain also highlighted the significance of the tournament as a platform for players to showcase their talent and enhance their profiles.

CHAN 2024 offers Nigeria an opportunity to make a strong statement after their absence from recent editions of the tournament. Fans will be hoping that the team's hard work and determination can translate into a memorable campaign.
