Katsina United FC’s Sadiq Abubakar Usman, popularly known as Daddy Matic, has traveled to Egypt for a trial with Zamalek FC, marking a significant milestone for the club and the player.
The club's chairman, Alhaji Kabir Dan'lami Rimi, confirmed that the trial is fully sponsored by Katsina United, highlighting their commitment to nurturing homegrown talent. This marks the first time a state-born player has been sponsored by the club for an international trial.
Chairman Kabir Dan’lami Rimi expressed best wishes on behalf of the club’s management, players, technical crew, staff, and sports-loving citizens of Katsina. He encouraged Daddy Matic to uphold discipline and professionalism during the trial, emphasizing that such attributes are key to success.
In addition to his trial with Zamalek FC, Daddy Matic has the opportunity to try out with two other Egyptian clubs if the Zamalek trial does not yield a positive outcome.
This historic development underscores Katsina United’s dedication to developing local talent and providing opportunities for players to shine on international platforms.
