Ovoke Plots Kwara United Fall in Ilorin

Former Kwara United winger Bernard Ovoke is determined to lead Enyimba FC to victory when they face his former team in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) matchday 12 clash on Monday in Ilorin.

Ovoke, now a key figure for the People’s Elephant, expressed confidence in Enyimba’s ability to bounce back from their recent 2-0 defeat to Kano Pillars. Speaking ahead of the encounter, Ovoke emphasized his team’s resilience and focus.

“We didn’t get the result we wanted in Kano, but we won’t let that define us. We’ll stay strong and get ready to roar again in Ilorin,” he stated. “We have the squad, the team, and the motivation to beat Kwara United. As a familiar face in Ilorin, I’m positive we’ll secure a win on Monday,” he told OwoSports.

The winger, who joined Enyimba during the second stanza of the 2023/2024 season, has been an integral part of the team’s campaign. His knowledge of Kwara United’s style of play could prove crucial as Enyimba aims to secure maximum points.

Historically, Enyimba has dominated this fixture, winning eight of their 12 meetings, with Kwara United claiming three victories and one draw. However, Kwara United triumphed 2-1 in their last encounter in Ilorin on March 24, 2024.

The highly anticipated match is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm on Monday at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin.
