Gusau, Elegbeleye to Attend Special Workshop on Football and Education Integration

Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), is set to deliver a presentation at a special workshop focused on strengthening the integration of football and education in Nigeria. The event, which will bring together key stakeholders in sports and academia, aims to explore innovative approaches to talent development and education.

Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), will grace the occasion as the special guest of honour. His presence underscores the NFF’s commitment to fostering an environment where football and education can thrive together for the benefit of young athletes.

The event will also have a diplomatic presence, with the Ambassador of Hungary to Nigeria, His Excellency László Szabó, confirming his attendance. This highlights the international interest in advancing football development in Nigeria through collaborative efforts.

Organised by Hungary-based V Agency, the workshop is scheduled to take place on Monday, February 11, at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Wazobia Hall. The event is expected to attract officials, club representatives, football academies, and educators who are invested in youth development through sports.

According to Alexandra Végh, Chief Executive Officer of V Agency, the workshop’s objective is to strengthen football and education integration in Nigeria, with a particular focus on advancements in scouting. She emphasized the role of technology in modern scouting methods, particularly the use of advanced scouting software, video editing tools, artificial intelligence, and analytics.

Végh further explained that the workshop will explore how these technological advancements, along with traditional assessments of players’ physical attributes, can redefine professional scouting in Nigeria. The discussions will aim to equip football administrators and coaches with tools that can enhance talent identification and development.

The event will also showcase V Agency’s efforts in promoting sports and educational partnerships within Nigeria. Through its initiatives, the agency seeks to bridge the gap between football training and academic excellence, creating well-rounded opportunities for young athletes.

Among the expected participants are officials from the Nigeria National League (NNL), Nationwide League One (NLO), football academies, and educational institutions. Their involvement highlights the growing recognition of the need for a structured approach to combining football development with quality education.

Additionally, Végh will provide insights into V Agency’s ongoing projects in Nigeria and how they align with global best practices in football development. The workshop will serve as a platform for key figures in sports and education to network and explore collaborative opportunities.

With the presence of top football administrators, international representatives, and technology experts, the event promises to be a landmark occasion in advancing Nigeria’s football ecosystem. The emphasis on education and technological innovation ensures that young talents receive holistic development, preparing them for success both on and off the pitch.
