NPFL 25: Relegation-Threatened Lobi Stars Drown In Adopted Home Ground



Lobi Stars’ battle against relegation continues to intensify as they suffered a 1-0 defeat in their adopted home ground during their Matchday 22 encounter in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. Despite relocating to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, the Pride of Benue were unable to secure crucial points, as they fell to Enyimba FC.

The match saw Ifeanyi Ihemekwele's solitary strike provide Enyimba with all three points, condemning Lobi Stars to another disappointing loss. The defeat further deepened Lobi Stars' relegation woes, leaving them in the precarious 19th position on the NPFL table with just 21 points.



This loss under the stewardship of coach Daniel Amokachi has put Lobi Stars at greater risk of relegation. The team’s inability to find their rhythm, especially after the move to a new venue, continues to raise concerns over their prospects for survival in the top tier of Nigerian football.

Meanwhile, Enyimba FC's victory marked an important three points for the Aba-based side, as they continued their quest for a higher finish in the league. Their resilience against a struggling Lobi Stars demonstrated the importance of securing wins in key matchups as the season approaches its critical stages.



Elsewhere in the NPFL, other results saw Rangers International maintain their winning form with a 2-0 victory over Ikorodu City FC. Bendel Insurance also emerged victorious, securing a 1-0 win against Katsina United, while Kwara United triumphed 2-0 over El-Kanemi Warriors in Ilorin.

These results further highlight the competitiveness of the NPFL, with teams like Rangers and Kwara United continuing to stake their claim at the top, while Lobi Stars' struggles intensify in their fight to avoid relegation.
