Heartland Queens FC midfield dynamo, Oluchi Okwara, has reassured fans that the team will bounce back from their recent poor form as they take on Dannaz Ladies in a crucial NWFL Premiership Matchday 5 encounter on Wednesday, February 12, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
The Owerri-based side has endured a difficult spell, failing to secure a win in their last four outings, with just a solitary point to show for their efforts.
However, Okwara remains optimistic that the tide will turn in their favor upon their return to their home ground, the Dan Anyiam Stadium, on Wednesday.
In an exclusive chat with the club’s media, the playmaker expressed confidence in her ability and the team’s collective determination to secure maximum points against the Lagos-based side, Dannaz Ladies.
“In this very next home match against Dannaz Ladies, we are going for an outright victory and nothing else. I have no doubt in my mind that I will give my very best to ensure we get a good result. The expected win will be the necessary catalyst to turn our fortunes around for the better in the upcoming matches," Okwara enthused.
The midfield maestro also had a warm message for the club’s supporters, urging them to remain steadfast in their backing of the Owerri Landladies.
“We want to appeal to our teeming fans and supporters not to give up on us. They should keep encouraging us as we are more determined than ever to make them proud, starting with this Wednesday's match against Dannaz Ladies. We sincerely apologize for the poor results so far this season, and we have come back as a unit to make amends and put smiles on their faces once again,” she concluded.
All eyes will be on the Owerri side's resolve to improve their performance on home soil and push for better placement in the eight-team Group A log, where they currently sit seventh with just one point, nine adrift of leaders Remo Stars Ladies.
