Abia Warriors midfielder Ojonugwa Adejoh has assured fans of the team’s readiness ahead of their crucial clash with El-Kanemi Warriors this Sunday, in what will be their final home fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The combative midfielder, who hails from Kogi State, spoke with confidence during a media chat, emphasizing the importance of the match and the team’s collective focus on securing all three points.
“The Warriors are 100% ready for the match tomorrow. We have put in a lot of work in training after our midweek fixture. The spirit is high in the Warriors camp, and we are ready to go,” Adejoh said.
Abia Warriors are currently third on the NPFL table with 57 points from 36 games, and a win on Sunday would further strengthen their bid for a continental slot. Despite the pressure of the occasion, Adejoh insisted that the team remains calm and concentrated.
“No two games are the same. We all know how important this match is for us as a club, so we are going all out to get the maximum three points,” he said. “No pressure whatsoever, we are only focused on getting the desired three points tomorrow.”
El-Kanemi Warriors, meanwhile, are in 15th position with 46 points and are fighting to avoid the drop. However, Adejoh made it clear that past results between the two sides will have no impact on Sunday’s showdown.
Abia Warriors will host El-Kanemi Warriors at the Umuahia Township Stadium, with kickoff set for 3:00 p.m.
