Buberio FC extended their winning run in the Nationwide League One (NLO) with a solid 2-0 victory over struggling Jaguar FC, handing the latter their sixth straight defeat of the season.
The Umunneochi-based side started strongly, taking the lead in the 5th minute through striker Benjamin Chikezie, who finished off a squared pass from Obinna Ajoko. The goal gave Buberio FC a slim lead going into halftime.
Jaguar FC responded with urgency in the second half, pressing for an equalizer, but were repeatedly denied by Buberio’s organized defense and goalkeeper Chidubem Egbulefu’s timely saves.
Midway through the second half, Uluocha Kenneth doubled the lead for Buberio FC, pouncing on a loose ball in the box to seal the win.
With momentum on their side, Buberio FC will aim to continue their form against Onapal FC on matchday 7, while winless Jaguar FC face a tough test against the Enyimba Feeders at Oisa Stadium, Okpala.
