John Amah’s Rise to Prominence: From Injury Setback to Plateau United’s Safe Hands

Plateau United’s goalkeeper, John Amah, has cemented his place as the club’s number one following a strong return from injury in the ongoing NPFL25 season.

After making the switch from Sunshine Stars to the Peace Boys ahead of NPFL24, Amah quickly caught attention with his imposing presence and pedigree from Nigeria’s age-grade national teams. His promising debut campaign, however, was derailed by a lengthy injury that sidelined him for much of the season.

He made his long-awaited return on NPFL25 Matchday 25 in a clash against Ikorodu City in Lagos and has since gone on to make 15 appearances across all competitions. Amah has kept six clean sheets in league games against Bayelsa United, Abia Warriors, Rangers International, Kwara United, and Akwa United, as well as in a Federation Cup round of 32 victory over his former side, Sunshine Stars.

Known for his commanding aerial ability, sharp reflexes, and strong one-on-one saves, Amah continues to grow in confidence and form, proving vital to Plateau United’s aspirations this season.

Amah remains a key figure in the squad as Plateau United eyes a strong finish to the NPFL25 campaign.
