NPFL Slams Indefinite Ban on Lobi Stars Media Officer Over Match-Fixing Allegation

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has indefinitely banned Emmanuel Ujah, Media Officer of Lobi Stars, from all NPFL25-related activities over allegations of misconduct.

Ujah was charged for violating the NPFL Framework and Rules after making unsubstantiated claims of match-fixing during a recent interview. He later admitted that the interview was a mistake and confessed to having no evidence to support his allegations.

Driven by emotion, Ujah expressed regret over his comments and pledged to conduct himself better moving forward.

Following a thorough investigation, the NPFL announced the indefinite suspension and directed Ujah to issue a written apology and formally retract his claims.

Meanwhile, the league body has advised the Lobi Stars management to further probe some of the broader concerns raised by Ujah during the interview.
