Sokoto United FC has congratulated the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, on his election as President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B.
In a statement signed by the club’s General Manager, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Maraya, the club described the development as a proud moment for both Nigerian and West African football.
“We are immensely proud to see Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau emerge as President of WAFU Zone B,” said Maraya. “His ascension is a big win not just for Nigeria, but for the entire West African football community.”
Maraya praised Gusau’s dedication and leadership, noting that his new role presents a significant opportunity to boost football development across the region.
“With Alhaji Gusau at the helm, we are confident that WAFU Zone B will experience stronger unity, improved competition structures, and greater focus on youth and grassroots development,” he added.
He reaffirmed Sokoto United’s support for initiatives aimed at strengthening football both nationally and regionally.
