The Enyimba Stadium is undergoing a major facelift ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, with renovations nearing completion and excitement growing among fans and stakeholders.
Sporting Director Ifeanyi Ekwueme has commended the Abia State government for its unwavering support of the project. “The state government has been very supportive of our plans to renovate the stadium,” he said. “With their backing, we are confident that the Enyimba Stadium will be one of the best in the country.”
Known as the Elephant Park, the stadium has been Enyimba’s home ground since 1974 and has hosted both domestic and international fixtures. The current renovation marks a significant milestone in the club’s efforts to provide a world-class experience for fans and players alike.
Upon completion, the stadium will boast a 25,000-seat capacity, a modern playing surface, VIP lounges, upgraded dressing rooms, and other top-tier amenities. These improvements are expected to not only enhance matchday experiences but also make the facility suitable for hosting major sporting and entertainment events.
Ekwueme praised the role of the club’s management in pushing the renovation forward, particularly the leadership of Club Chairman Kanu Nwankwo. “Our management team, led by Kanu Nwankwo, is working tirelessly to ensure the stadium is ready for the 2025/26 season. We are determined to make our supporters and the state proud,” he added.
