Mobolaji Johnson Arena to Host 2025 President Federation Cup Final

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the 2025 President Federation Cup final will take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Saturday, June 28.

The historic venue, popularly known as Onikan Stadium, will stage the prestigious final for the second consecutive year. It previously hosted the 2024 edition, where El-Kanemi Warriors triumphed over Abia Warriors and Rivers Angels edged Naija Ratels in the women’s final.

This year’s men’s final will see underdogs Abakaliki FC of Ebonyi lock horns with top-tier side Kwara United of Ilorin. In the women’s final, defending champions Rivers Angels will face Nasarawa Amazons.

Lagos continues its rich history with the competition, having hosted 60 finals since the tournament's inception. Of those, 18 took place at the original King George V Stadium (1945–1962), later renamed Lagos City Stadium and now Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

Other Lagos venues have included the National Stadium, Surulere—which hosted 22 finals between 1974 and 2002—and Teslim Balogun Stadium, which hosted eight editions.

The final has also journeyed to other parts of the country, including Ibadan, Bauchi, Makurdi, Kaduna, Benin City, Port Harcourt, Abeokuta, Kano, Agege, and Asaba.

With Lagos once again chosen, all eyes now turn to Onikan as Abakaliki FC aim to complete their fairytale run against a seasoned Kwara United, while Rivers Angels seek to retain their crown in the women’s game.
