As the 2024/25 football season wraps up, Kano-based professional footballers marked the end of their campaign with a special friendly match in honor of Abdulrashid Shehu Uba, media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The match, held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Mahaha Sport Complex in Kano, featured the Kano Professionals against Sharada Academy. The event was part of a Sallah celebration and also served as a fitness session for the professionals during their off-season break.
A presentation ceremony was led by prominent figures in Kano football, including Kano Professionals’ coordinator Abahuraira Dahiru and Kano Pillars captain Rabiu Ali.
Among the notable attendees were veteran NPFL defender Abdullahi Musa, Nigerian international goalkeeper Yusuf Mohammed, shot-stopper Rahaqu Adamu, and midfield anchor Jamilul Mai Sallah.
Also in attendance was Chief Coach Adede, who heads both the Kano Festival Football team and the Kano Professionals. His presence underscored the significance of the occasion for the local football community.
The match not only highlighted the camaraderie among Kano’s footballers but also showcased their commitment to staying fit while celebrating one of their own.
